8 Reasons Why We're Thankful For Our Dogs

This is one of our favorite times of the year because it gives us another opportunity to talk about why dogs are so amazing. We’re all in our feelings about giving thanks and gratitude towards friends and family. We also want to thank our fur baby family members for all the reasons why they make our lives so amazing.

#1 | Snuggles are never in short supply.

Cuddling up for bedtime with our dog feels like a warm reminder of how much they love us. If only they knew how much we love them!

#2 | We’re never alone when we feel down.

Dog just seem to know when we’re upset and show up to offer comfort, or they just really enjoy the taste of our tears! Either way, they’re there for us when we could use some company during our down times and we’re so thankful.

#3 | They’re good for our health.

Think about it. Dogs spark love and laughter, both common in releasing serotonin. When your mind takes on more serotonin, you get better sleep because it regulates the circadian rhythm. This can aid your lifestyle, cut down on stress, therefore improving your health. 

#4 | They make the best alarm clock.

Did you know that how you spend the first 30 minutes to an hour of your day can set the tone for the rest of the day? How about starting it off with smiles? We can’t think of a better way than when dogs storm in and lick our faces awake or jump on the bed. 

#5 | Dogs are the best movie-watching buddies.

No spoilers, no asking questions. It’s just you and your dog and the movie. Maybe a few barks here and there, but at least there’s captions!

#6 | Dogs keep us grounded and humble. 

Caring for a dog means putting their needs at the forefront of your mind at all times. Everything we do and every choice we make has to consider our dogs. Like nobody can just take off on a plane to a different country without planning for their dog’s care while they’re away. That’d be madness!

#7 | They make the best internet celebrities. 

Dog owners infiltrating the internet via TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube has been the best thing to happen ever. Scrolling through social media feels like an experience when you find that perfect golden retriever puppy video that makes you laugh and melt. They keep the internet balanced! You know what we mean.

#8 | Every memory makes us smile.

Whether it’s a dog who is still with us or a dog who has passed, every memory to look back on brings smiles and joy. They make our lives feel rich and full of happiness in a way that can’t be matched by anything else.
